Lake Akan 　 Lake Akan is known as the place which Marimo (floating green algae ball) inhabit. The scenery of the lake from the backyard of the inn is wonderful. The sightseeing boats leave and arrive at a pier near the inn and take you to Churui Island to observe Marimo. Lake Akan Sightseeing Cruise 　 You shouldn't miss the sightseeing boat in Lake Akan. The course is about 12 km a circuit. You can do marimo observation. At Ainu Chise, you can see the Ancient Ainu Dance, which was designated as the important intangible cultural asset of Japan. It is 1 minute walk from the inn.

The observation of Marimo 　 Marimo doesn't inhabit everywhere. They were designated as the special natural monument of Japan, their habitat is off limits. The place where you can see them is "Marimo Exhibition Tourist Center" in Churui Island.
