The Clock Tower was built as a martial arts theater of the Sapporo Agricultural School in 1878. Since then, it has continued ticking away time for more than 100 years. It exhibits source books about the history of Sapporo.

●Former Hokkaido Government Office Building (Known as Red Bricks)
The building was constructed in 1879 (Meiji era), and was inspired by the old Massachusetts State House in U.S. It is also an important cultural property. There is a document pavilion that the history books of Hokkaido were collected. You can see the illuminated building at nights.

In this botanical garden,you can see the remaining virgin forest just like the old times. More than 4,000 varieties of plants are cultivated over 13 hectares of this site. The Archives of Northern Nation and Ainu Museum are also located in this garden.

● Sapporo Archives Museum

Built in 1926 as the Sapporo High Court. This is a stately building made of soft stone. Historical documents and artifacts of the city are displayed. There is a relief of goddess Themis in the entrance front.

●Hokkaido University Poplar Avenue
Hokkaido University, the forerunner Sapporo Agricultural School, has beautiful and huge premises of 181 hectares campus. It includes the model farm No.2 faculty of Agriculture which is also an important cultural property, and Furukawa Memorial Hall. You can see the scenery that it seems to be so much like Hokkaido, such as "Poplar avenue" around Farm No.1.

This is a large-scale commercial establishment that constructed at the birthplace of Japanese beer which was made of red bricks. It remodeled as a beautiful building with a large atrium. It consists of many shops, restaurants, a hotel, a spa, an iMac theater, a museum, and so on. It not only attracts citizens but also tourists. It's a place that you can stay whole day and have fun.

This is a museum that authorized by Meissen; an exclusive porcelain company in Germany which boast of being the oldest in the tradition in Europe. Main exhibits are called "Sea urchin cart, "which are created under free conception in the Meissen porcelain revolution period. It exhibits large vases which were exhibited in the Paris International Expo in 1900 including the initial works of 250 years old productions. You can appreciate the artistry of the Japanese Imari porcelain that influences other porcelain productions. There are 150 porcelain works in total are exhibited.

●Nakajima Park
This park has the longest history in Sapporo. Kamokamo-river flows and boats float in the pond of this park. It has two important cultural properties; one is Houheikan, and the other is Hassouan. It contains a winter sports museum, an astronomical observatory, a rose garden, children's land, and various sports faculties.

It is built as a guesthouse by the reclaimant in 1880. It is being used as a Wedding Hall of municipal management nowadays. It is a valuable building to the architectural historical whose exhibition room is open to the public.

●Maruyama Park
Maruyama is 226m above sea level and located west side of Odori Park. The 70 hectares of green tract of Maruyama is Maruyama Park. This park features a virgin forest which is one of the national monuments. Next to this park, there are Maruyama Zoo, a ballpark, an integrated playground, tennis courts, and so on. Together with the adjoining Hokkaido Shinto Shrine, it offers great waking trails.

Sapporo Maruyama Zoo, the largest zoo to the north of Tokyo in Japan, is opened all the year round. You can observe rare creatures that collected all over the world.
It has about 200 species and 1,300 creatures. The facilities are Tropical Animal Pavilion, World Bare Pavilion, Ape Pavilion, Reptile Pavilion, and Integrated Waterfowl Aviary.

●The Sapporo Museum of Sculpture

Exhibits more than 100 of bronze Sculptures and wood carving sculptures of a carver from Sapporo, Shin Hongo. His prototype sketch sculptures are exhibited in the memorial house in the annex.

●Okurayama & Miyanomori Jump Hills
Mt. Okura is the site where the Ski Jump competition was held of 90m class large Hill and Miyanomori was the site of 70m class normal Hill of Sapporo Winter Olympics in 1972.
When no competitions are being held, the stadium is open to the public as Okurayama Observatory with passenger lift service.

Rose Garden Chizaki is located in Fushimi-Cho where the foot of Mt. Moiwa. 370 kinds and 3700 stocks of roses are planted on the premises of 5.9 hectares. You should not miss the scenery of Sapporo with beautiful roses under your eyes. They have two blooming season which are from the late June to August and the beginning of September to the end of October. There is a cafe restaurant where the rose-flavored ice cream can be tasted.

Yurigahara Park

●Mt. Teine
Mt. Teine is the site of alpine skiing and bobsledding competitions of the Sapporo Winter Olympics in 1972. You can enjoy skiing in winter, also climb this mountain and use facilities in summer.
